Consul - The Consulates

Consul – The Consulates
This character grew up in Spain as a noble prince, not knowing much of the world or even their home city. Young life is a sheltered life. As this character ages into their pre teenage years they become more curious as to what is beyond the walls of the palace. At night this character constantly sneaks out to venture in to the darkness revealing what the night life of the city yields. The palace is nestled by dense foliage on top of a mountain and the trek down into the city is treacherous in the low light. Bewildered by the greenery on the mountain and the clearing of nature in the city this character is more curious as to why this is. He meets a boy, roughly the same age, which lives alone on the mountain side. They’re weary of each other first, but then become best of friends. The identity of each boy is made clear, one a prince, one a homeless orphan. In teenage years they hunt small game, explore vast caves and adventure further and further in to the unkempt nature. City life is boring and too crowded for both of the boys- they stay away. All the meanwhile the palace patrons do not know of the young prince’s adventures and skirmishes until one day at the age of 21 when the young prince and his friend venture to the edge of land, to the ocean. They see the beauty of their great land meeting and even greater mass of water. Mesmerized in awe a passing ship sees the two; it’s the prince’s father mad in anger that his own son would involve himself with such a lowly class of people. The father orders the friend to be captured and sentenced to death. The inevitable comes and the prince’s friend, all too happy to move to the next plane for the sake of the prince, calmly takes his last breath and says, “thank you”. The king is blind in his fury and bans the prince from going outside. He is mentored by the best politicians to eventually take the kings place. The age of 30 approaches and the prince still mourns for his best friend, has obeyed his father, to learn what it takes to become a good successor and politician.  A few years later he is allowed to, with royal escorts, venture into the city. He is saddened to see the unhappiness of his citizens. The prince vows from that day forth he will rule and succeed his father, but he will rule by his own virtues, ones that he learned whilst his best friend was alive.
